Cut & Paste Landscapes

March 5, 2022 by art-in-residence-admin

What do you see too much of in the landscape? What would you want to see more of? Join this workshop to explore your ideas through collage!

Collage is a way of creating a visual work of art by combining different elements – be they found images, patterns, bits of text, textured papers – in new and sometimes unexpected ways.

Channeling the spirit of Superstudio and their speculative collages of anti-architecture, this workshop engages with ideas of landscape and to share ideas with members of the community. From the mundane to the fantastical, you will be able to collage your ideas about landscape into a finished work of art.

Studio Session – This is a 2.5 hour session that includes a short lecture discussion followed by a light critique of your finished work at the end of the session. This session is ideal for ages 13 and up.

Playground Session – This is a 2 hour session that is an introduction course where you will learn how to learn basic collage techniques. This session is ideal for ages under 13. *Also Open for those who attended the studio session if you would like additional time to work on your piece.

Conducted by Dave Martin and Nathaniel Ancheta

Our 2023 Sessions are now open!

Workshop Overview

One of the oldest traditions in art – drawing the landscape from within the landscape.

Plein air painting is about leaving the four walls of your studio behind and experiencing painting and drawing in the landscape. This workshop will host 4 sessions in conjunction with this years annual exhibition.

Come and draw/sketch the landscape (and whatever else) with us

A limited number of easels will be provided. Please BYO art materials.

Conducted by Dave Martin and Nathaniel Ancheta

Our 2023 Sessions are now open 🙂
