Location: Museum of Art & History
This exhibition is part of the a larger exhibition titled #CountMeIn which is part of a 2020 census awareness project. the culmination of a year-long series of arts-driven community engagement events and conversations facilitated by a team of artists whose goal it is to increase participation in the 2020 Census in and around downtown Lancaster and The BLVD Cultural District.
As a day, a decade is an exhibition that envisions the census as a way to raise the volume of the community members’ voices: The larger the number of census participants, the greater the representation for the community. As a day, a decade is an immersive installation that solidifies the link between individuals and the community by recording audio from diverse voices during #CountMeIn Workshops and documenting the geographic area in the lead up to Census Month. The recovered park fixtures represent the concept of shared spaces and diverse groups of people working together to positively impact the community
