We at Art In Residence been hosting Open Critiques for the past year or so, a bi-monthly gathering where we invite a special guest artist and have artists from the community sign up and show work. Our normal meeting place has been the second floor of the MOAH:CEDAR building. We understand not a lot of folks feel comfortable meeting in person again, and we’re not sure we do either. So, we’re changing the format a bit, and for the next little while. Sessions will resume 9/13/20 with a new virtual format.

Our bi-monthly Open Critique provides an opportunity for local artists to have in-depth conversations with each other in a group critique environment. Open to artists of all skill levels and ages, this workshop serves as a platform where experienced artists can share their work and ideas, and young artist can learn to discuss their own work and the work of others articulately meaningfully. Open Critique sessions are hosted by the A.I.R. team: Nathaniel Ancheta, David Edward Martin and Janice Ngan, and feature rotating guests from in and around the Los Angeles community.
