A COVID-19 Public Awareness Project
Lancaster-based nonprofit Art In Residence (A I R) and the BLVD Association seek creative images that encourage safe COVID-19 practices for patrons of businesses on the BLVD. Images will be incorporated into posters, printed, and distributed to businesses along Lancaster Blvd. This public service project is aimed at encouraging safe Covid-19 prevention practices, including:
-Maintaining 6-feet of distance from those outside of your household
-Staying home at any signs of sickness
Submitted images should clearly display & encourage one or more of the listed practices
Eligibility: Illustrators, painters, graphic artists, photographers, muralists, and artists of any 2-d medium are welcome to participate. All artists MUST be based in the Antelope Valley. Submitted images should clearly display and encourage one or more of the listed practices.
All work must be original, and the artist must own sole copyright to work displayed.
Notification & Submission specifications: all artists selected for participation will be notified within 5 days of submission. See below for awards considerations details:
– Resolution: 18”x24”, no less than 150, no more than 300dpi (standard print resolution)
– File type: .tiff, .jpg, or .pdf
Deadline for work submission: Sunday October 18th
-$250 cash prize for best overall design
-$100 cash prize for second place
To be eligible for the cash prize:
-Receieve notification of official selection for participation
-Follow @art_in_residence on Instagram
-Post an image of your submission with the hashtag #safeontheBlvd and tag @art_in_residence
– Finalists will be selected by A.I.R & the BLVD Association, and posted to A.I.R.’s Instagram feed.
Winners will be decided by the most likes 1 week after the deadline.
Please note, participation in the contest is not necessary for inclusion in the public awareness project
